| ART MOSCOW 2006: results EXPO-PARK Exhibition Projects is summing up the results of the 10 th International Art Fair ART MOSCOW that drew to a close on May 21.
The Fair was attended by 36,000 visitors. The 10th ART MOSCOW will occupy the entire Central House of Artists, 68 galleries from 14 different countries will take part in the Fair. Special guest of the Fair was German group of 10 galleries from North Rhine-Westphalia. According to the organizers' data, total direct sales have amounted to $ 3,150,000 (last year - $2,138,000) plus $ 1,270,000 worth of works have been reserved (last year -$677,000). Taking into account the information obtained from gallery operators, indirect sales based on contracts entered into at the Fair continue during 3 months and, therefore, considerably exceed the amount for reserved works. Thus, considering the Fair's long experience, the organizers believe that the reserved works amount may be objectively added up to the direct sales amount. So, in the organizers' opinion, the final total sales figure should be considered to be $ $ 4,420,000. The sale of foreign galleries brought in $1,180,000 (34% from sale's sum total), Russian galleries - 1,970,000 (66%). 16 galleries sold no items (among them - 10 foreign galleries).
The top 10th galleries in sales are:
1. Garri Tatintsian's Gallery (Moscow, Russia) 2. B&D Studio (Milan, Italy) 3. XL Gallery (Moscow, Russia) 4. Marat Gelman's Gallery (Moscow, Russia) 5. Pop\off\art Gallery (Moscow, Russia) 6.
