12 International Art Fair ART MOSCOW 2008 will be held in the Central House of Artists from 14 to 18 May, 2008.
The most effective market ground of contemporary art on the Russia’s art scene agglomerate specialists and art lovers from all over the world in the Central House of Artists annually at the end of spring. ART MOSCOW — is a unique platform for seeing and obtaining art pieces of the contemporary and most exciting actual artists in the world. The fair is also accompanied by a programme of lectures, exhibitions, special projects, Art Books Fair, every-day vernissages in Moscow galleries and museums. It creates the favorable environment for dialogue between professionals, art-critics, businessmen, artists and journalists. As a regular event ART MOSCOW has become a fundamental segment of Russian art market infrastructure.
In 2008 the ART MOSCOW, following a world practice of the largest art-fairs evolution, more rigidly, than ever earlier, has staked on quality instead of quantity. The Fair‘s Expert Council has considered more than 200 galleries applications from all over the world (Europe, Asia and Latin America,- more then 20 countries) wishing to participate and has selected only 45 of them (40 % participants — foreign galleries), having guaranteed a high quality level of gallery expositions at the Fair.
The Expert Council brings together leading Russian and foreign owners of galleries, theoreticians and art historians: Aidan Salakhova (Aidan Gallery, Moscow), Elena Selina (XL Gallery, Moscow), Katrin Bekker (Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (NBK), Berlin), Marat Gelman (Marat Guelman Gallery, Moscow), Volker Diehl (Volker Diehl Gallery, Berlin), Hans Knoll (Knollgallery, Vienna-Budapest)
12th ART MOSCOW unites 45 well-known galleries of contemporary and actual art from 12 countries — Austria, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, Finland, France, Czech Republic and Estonia.
